We are a family business that has been operating for 15 years where we developed it into an upmarket Framing Shop and Photographic business, value adding to the framing with services of scanning, photo restoration and high-end printing. Key services include custom framing, custom printing, scanning, photo restoration and passport photos. Effectively the only products we have for sale are our custom framing products, everything else are services. We provide a large selection of options to customers in framing, we always go the extra yard.
We have built up an excellent reputation for our work and have continual returning clientele. We also offer personalised one to one service with our customers to get the very best from your photos to be printed either on photo paper or canvas. Our customer base has been actively supporting our business and our location continues to generate new business.
Many consider us as one of the best 3 framers in Perth, which is a huge compliment as we are the smaller of the 3 businesses. There is so much room for expansion the owner has been selective in the services offered knowing expansion can be done through ongoing customer requests for photographic service.
Should the buyer want, the owner is available to stay up to 2 months to assist in the transition of running of the business.
POTENTIAL
We are getting asked on a regular basis for studio or family outdoor photo shoots. We have the space and a provision for a studio and could choose to offer the photographic shoot services to our customers. The new owner could offer photo shoots, produce the prints and frame them all under one roof and within the existing property.
Up to 2015 we had set up a photo studio offering studio and outdoor photo shoot services, but at our age we chose to reduce our workload for lifestyle choices. It would be so easy to re-commence this service and market to our database that already come to us for the printing and framing. Photo shooting has been very profitable in the past as we value add to the photo shoot with high end printing and framing. In many instances a simple photo shoot can generate sales above when printing and framing is upsold.
The extra space at our shop can be better utilised for a photo studio or maybe the new owner has an idea of diversifying the shop in a different way. With this business you know you have the foot traffic, customer base and space to diversify and continue to grow.
We also have a large following of repeat and recommended customers for passport photos with several post offices in the surrounding area recommending our services. They recommend us for passport photos other than Australian given that sometimes special sizes and resolution are required for different countries. This generates new traffic with the upsell of other products and services.
To be truthful we have been comfortable doing what we are doing without trying and not looking to expand the business as we approach retirement. We are not actively marketing the business and our customers have been asking for photo shoot services that we could do but choose to take it easy. With its own frontage on a major artery, it is walking distance to major retailers like Bunnings and Coles. We are ideally placed to service the hills suburbs and the never-ending developments in the Southeast corridor and as far away as Byford.
We are the only shop in our suburb and with the closure of the Gosnell's Framers some two years ago when the owners retired during COVID our capture area increased. From there we only have very limited competition with the outer suburbs but continue to expand in these areas just from word of mouth.

The owner is overdue for retirement and after some 15 years of working with her passion she is looking forward to spending more time with the family. She would like to see the business continue to grow and amplify the success to date for the new owner.
