Having owned, managed and sold many businesses, including multiple franchise businesses, Charles’s breadth of Business Sales has been wide ranging.  From selling an original ‘Paperchase’ refuge collection business based on the North Shore in the late 90’s, to establishing one of NZ’s largest retail flooring operations in a Joint Venture partnership with a large corporate entity, Charles has accumulated skills and knowledge with experience that only comes from rolling your sleeves up and learning from your mistakes.

Qualified as a Typographer once leaving School, Charles went on to enjoy a successful career within the corporate sector. Forming part of the executive team within the large multi-national organisation Konica Minolta, Charles was responsible for the South Island network of branches. In recent years Charles has been focused on developing his own chain of businesses within the retail and commercial flooring industry.

Highly customer-centric with an excellent understanding of how to develop a high performing sales organisation as evidenced by achievement in two very different industries. Charles developed his flooring business from an existing turnover of $4.2M in 2012 to a turnover of over $10.5M year ending March 2017. Having recently sold his interest back to the Parent Company for a substantial profit, Charles has created a new business called Business Values and as mentioned above, is now working with the team at Barker Business Brokerage focused on selling businesses.

Charles is a keen cyclist and loves his boating and with a busy family which includes two beautiful children, Jack and Georgia and his loving wife Justine, you will most likely find Charles on any given Sunday at the yacht club helping coach the Optimist fleet.
