The Business
Customers consist of Marine and Freshwater aquariums and ponds – both commercial and private:
• Regular clients, mostly serviced every 4 weeks – (some fortnightly and a number on bi-monthly or quarterly services.)
• Turnover prior to illness $120,000. (The business has previously operated in excess of $200k p.a. with previous owner)
• Run from a home in the Northern beaches – a small garage or shed is useful for storage - but you can run 95% of the business out of a van
• Main activity is servicing Aquariums - 85% of turnover is service labour.
• Regular provision of sea water, fish food, pumps, heaters, fish, plants and associated equipment obtained from wholesalers offers higher profit margins. Most products sold are purchased online or from local aquarium suppliers with a negotiated discount.
