The Product:
The Manikin is designed to replace the 'volunteer' in hazardous training scenarios. Ranging from 5kg in weight, up to 100kg (even a 260kg Bariatric!), can be used in water, on land, at height and in high temperatures. Currently about 50 different variations. Extremely tough and well made, used by all the emergency services around the world; Australian Navy, Defence, SES, Fire and Rescue etc.

I also have distribution rights for two other water rescue products, but these only make up about 5% of total revenue, but huge opportunity to expand on this.

The Business:
Started in 2007, I purchased the business in 2015. I run this business on my own, although I do now hire someone on a casual basis to fulfill the orders, your choice.

I operate out of a warehouse of approximately 150m2. When I bought the business I also bought the warehouse and all equipment, that option is also available if interested. Our warehouse is on the Northern Beaches in Sydney.

As I work on my own, it's important to have good systems in place. I have a great ecommerce platform with websites in Australia and NZ. A lot of the administration is automated.

We import directly from the UK by sea, usually about 10 pallets each shipment, which is about 90-100 manikins. We normally keep about 200-300 manikins in stock.

We have an excellent relationship with the supplier in the UK who are extremely pro-active in helping their distributors around the world. About every 2 years a distributor conference is held in the UK to discuss all things manikins!

We sell direct to customers, and through an established reseller network. All sales are from public funds, Defence, SES etc, this makes the business virtually recession proof.

Annual revenue about $1.1M, profit about $450K. Sales have increased every year.

Reason for Selling:
It's time to retire. I've loved running this business but it's time to move on before I'm too old to enjoy it!
