*About The Business*
Under law, all LPG tanks have to be certified by an inspection at a minimum of every 2 years. In the past, that required a Tanker (to store the LP gas) while work was conducted. This required a driver of the tanker, a gas fitter (with a compressor for transfer) and a qualified pressure vessel inspector. This was a very costly exercise.
The owner saw how he could be a disrupter in the sector especially in more remote parts of the country. The company constructed a tanker that included a transfer compressor and a transfer pump with dedicated hose reels for liquid and vapour. The pressure vessel inspector then gained his licence for driving dangerous goods and gas fitting qualifications, thus creating a situation that only one person was required to complete the task.
The cost reductions were immediate to the end customer and the company went from primarily servicing outback locations to being in demand across all locations throughout Australia. Customers now include Origin Energy, Wesfarmers and Caltex to name a few.
