Axedale Tavern

Axedale Tavern was first established in 1855 and situated on the McIvor Highway halfway between Heathcote and Bendigo and enjoys constant stopovers from commuters in this high exposure position. Over the years the owners have updated and modernised the tavern maintaining the historical charm and ambience of the hotel.

The hotel features public bar, beer garden, coffee house, bistro and pool room.

Recent updates have seen the addition of a much-needed Coffeehouse, & improvements to the Beer Garden have provided the ideal venue for live music and given our smaller & even furry patrons a place to play.

The current owners have been very enterprising and offer a take away menu, offer versatile spaces for functions and collaborated with other businesses to offer wine tours. The Axedale is a family-run business, employing many locals and supporting local wineries & breweries.
