Celebrating 10 years in Business Broking from a Generalist to Childcare Specialist

Celebrating 10 years in Business Broking from a Generalist to Childcare Specialist
Celebrating ten years in business broking is a milestone that fills me with gratitude, pride and a deep sense of purpose. My journey has been shaped not only by hard work and opportunity, but also by my culture, my values, and my belief that education has the power to transform lives.
Starting Out as a Female Broker in a Male-Dominated Industry
When I entered the industry a decade ago, business broking was overwhelmingly male-dominated. There were very few women in the field, and even fewer in leadership positions.
I quickly learned that I had to work harder, present stronger and negotiate smarter to earn respect. Instead of discouraging me, this motivated me to build a career based on integrity, discipline and results.
I also made a personal decision early on: to support more female business owners and to champion women-led enterprises.
Female entrepreneurs often carry both family and business responsibilities, and I wanted to play a part in helping them realise the true value of what they had built.
From Generalist Broker to Purpose-Driven Specialist
I began my career working across a wide range of businesses from cafes, retail, service providers to franchises and more. Those early years gave me a strong commercial foundation, but I knew I wanted to specialise in a sector where women played a major role, where the work carried social impact, where long-term demand created stability, and where business and property could be integrated into a single, strategic transaction. Most importantly, I wanted to work in a field where I could genuinely help people.
That path led me to childcare.
Why Childcare Became My Calling
Childcare aligns perfectly with my personal values and cultural upbringing.
I grew up believing one fundamental truth:
教育可以改变命运。教育就是力量。
Education can change a life. Education is power.
This belief is central to who I am and childcare, the foundation of all education, is where that belief comes to life.
In childcare, I found women-led businesses, purpose-driven operators and centres built with love, patience and vision. I saw communities shaped by early education and a sector that brings together both business and freehold property opportunities in a way unlike any other.
It became clear to me that this was the space where I could make a meaningful impact professionally and personally.
Timing, Challenges and Opportunities
My transition into childcare came at a time when the sector was expanding rapidly but also becoming increasingly complex. I navigated challenges ranging from ACECQA regulations and provider approvals to service transfers, dual business-and-property transactions, sensitive vendor retirements and high-level investor negotiations.
Each of these experiences pushed me to grow beyond the role of an agent and develop into a genuine specialist in the field. With every difficulty came an opportunity deeper industry knowledge, stronger professional relationships and a higher level of trust from the clients I serve.
A Decade of Purpose and Achievement
Over the past ten years, I’ve had the privilege of representing childcare owners who have poured their passion into their centres, including many women who built their businesses entirely from the ground up. During this time, I’ve completed high-value childcare freehold and leasehold transactions across NSW, earned multiple Chairman’s Club and Top Broker awards, become an AIBB Registered Business Valuer, and built a strong network of investors, operators and childcare groups.
These milestones have contributed to a reputation as a trusted specialist in a sensitive, high-stakes sector and reflect a decade defined by commitment, professionalism and continuous growth.
The Heart of My Work: People, Education, Legacy
Every childcare sale carries meaning. Behind each centre is a story of sacrifice, love and community impact.
My work allows me to honour those stories and support owners as they transition with dignity, clarity and fair value. My belief in the power of education shapes the way I approach every transaction.
I don’t simply sell businesses, I help transfer a legacy of early learning that influences families, communities and future generations.
Looking Ahead to the Next 10 Years
In the decade ahead, I will continue to elevate childcare brokerage standards, support female operators and entrepreneurs, strengthen my valuation and advisory services, and use AI and technology to bring greater precision to every stage of the process. I’m committed to helping more owners maximise both their business and property value while contributing to an industry built on education and community.
My purpose remains the same: to serve with integrity, professionalism and heart.
